The NFL Draft for Dummies

The NFL Draft is a very exciting time for those of us who find the NFL off-season to be more boring than the MLB in-season. Anyway, I am going to make this very simple for you. The NFL Draft is basically the NFL teams picking who they think is right for their team. The picks go in order for the worst team to the best team (in the 1st round). So, the worst NFL team from the previous season takes the 1st pick in the draft (usually). When they don't is when they trade for another player, or more picks, but that are higher up, or next years picks, etc, etc. There you have it. The NFL draft 1st round for dummies. See you tomorrow for the 1st round coverage starting at noon on ESPN.

Someone Read My Blog!!!

God, you don't know how annoying it is to blog crap about your thoughts every day, but then have one to read them and to comment on them. Please, if someone happens to read this very special blog of mine, please feel free to COMMENT on it PLEASE! Anyway, I am bored already today and I think I will talk about my beloved Orioles. They have 2 in a row now(or is it 3) and they play Boston tonight at home and they have to face Curt Schilling. Damn, this is going to be ugly! Ok, I am done for now so COMmeNT!

Orioles Lately

The O's have been doing pretty well lately. They have won their last 9 of 13 and Erik Bedard is a beast. That is pretty much a sun up. Oh yeah, and the are in second place in the East. In FRONT of the New York Yankees!.

The Virginia Tech Shooting...Why?

Why is our world like this. We should be able to go into a school or university, or whatever and feel safe because that is a learning environment where we should be at peace and to learn why things like this happen and how we can prevent them. Now, for the next question, how do we prevent tragedies like this from happening? The answer is not simple and would take some hard thinking to solve it. I believe that there may have to be tighter security, everywhere. First, we have to get the whole story, and the facts of the story to know how to judge. So, I will stop writing now and wait for more details to arise.

O's Game

"It took an unlikely hit from an unlikely source, but the Orioles made it to .500 for the first time Saturday night. Utilityman Chris Gomez got a rare start at first base and punched a game-changing grand slam in the sixth inning of Baltimore's 6-4 win over Kansas City, a game that was played in a steady drizzle from start to finish."-orioles.com

Disturbia Review

I just got back from the new movie, Disturbia. Overall, I really liked this movie. I thought that for such a young cast, except for Morse, the acting was superb. Lebeouf was a good leading character and acted all of the real-life like situations out correctly. Sarah Roemen is beautiful and a good actor on top of it. Aaron Yoo was also a good supporting actor and was funny when it was a good time. I thought this portrayed todays teens correctly also. Though the ending was expected, it was welcoming. This was a great movie that won't be winning any awards.

Orioes Game

Great pitching. Nick Markakis is a god. Great game. Almost to.500. WooHoo. I am tired. Goodnight.

Tonight's Game

Overall, tonight's game was an accomplishment(even though it was against the Royals.). Our bullpen was OUTSTANDING and the starting pitching was also pretty good. The one disappointment I have is with our hitting. We have so much talent on this team, but what do we have to show for it? Gibbons , even though he drove in the winning run, had other opportunities during this game where he failed. Same thing goes for Kevin Millar. These guys are the potential leaders of this team and need to step up. Congrats on tonights win, but more offense is needed. Here is a recent blog about the Orioles season so far.- this is from Slate.com

"Ten years ago this month, the Baltimore Orioles beat the Kansas City Royals on Opening Day, claiming a share of first place. After a week, they were 4-2 and still in first. And they stayed in first for another week, and another. First baseman Rafael Palmeiro slugged 38 home runs, second baseman Roberto Alomar batted .333, and superstar manager Davey Johnson used savvy, mature starting pitchers and a dominant bullpen to keep opponents off the scoreboard. The Orioles won 98 games in 1997 and led the division from April through September.

Now, for the first time since that heady summer, the Orioles—the team I've rooted for since I was an infant—look like a potential champion. The first baseman eked out 21 home runs last year, bouncing between two other teams. The second baseman hit .286 and grounded into 16 double plays. The manager, a semianonymous Baltimore lifer, has never skippered a winning major-league season; the starting rotation features one emerging ace followed by a mix of raw youngsters and sore-armed has-beens. A week into the season, they were in last place with a 2-4 record.

At first glance, the Orioles might not seem like championship material. But championship material means the material of which champions are made. And as of the 2007 season, that means mediocrity. The reigning champs of baseball are the St. Louis Cardinals—a team that rode the sixth-best hitting and ninth-best pitching in the National League to 83 wins, a Central Division title, and a ticket to the postseason. Eleven playoff wins later, they took their place alongside the 1967 Cardinals and the 1927 Yankees: World Series winners. A week into this new season, the Cardinals were 2-4, just like the Orioles."-

This was just an excerpt, but it sums it up pretty well so far.

My O's Tonight

Wow, someone needs to analyze Sammy P and either fire him or shoot him(jk). But seriously, he is just not made for this team, let alone job. Are you people aware that this man has NEVER had a winning season as a major league manager? The Orioles have had 9 losing seasons in a row. Is Peter Angelos trying to make it 10? Whoever is Peter's boss needs to fire him. Do you remember the 1997 season? Angelos got all pissy after the disappointing loss in the playoffs, so he decided to fire the current manager whateverhisnamewas. Then the next year, out went Palmiero and that other guy. This has been sad so far, were 3-5. GO O's

Only 2 Diggs!? Ahhrgh!!

I like Digg.com, but whenever I put an article on it, the article is either already there, or i successfully submit it and I only get like 2 diggs in 2 days! I mean how do these people get sooo many diggs in such a short amount of time? Not to mention, what, do these people who have got like 2998 diggs sit around on engadget.com and wait for a new story. Jeez, what a way to spend time in a cubicle.

Redskins next season

I believe that the Washington Redskins will be a team next year that will be in contention to go to the super bowl. They will have Portis healthy (hopefully) and a new and improved QB. Not to mention their 6th pick in the draft this year. I have high expectations for them.

Sleeping and Dreaming

I think I am going to go to sleep now. I know that it says that my zip code is 90210 and that is because I lied about it. I really live on the East Coast where its about 10:45 right now. So, I think it's right about time for lights out. I hope I have a good dream tonight. ( If I do I will be sure to blog it). Goodnight world. Sweet Dreams.

New King of Queens Episode

Wow, I cannot believe that I am writing about the show again, but I really wanted to follow up with the last post I did. All in all, I think that I liked the last episode, but it wasn't as funny as some other older ones. I think Kevin James got fatter and leah Remini got skinnier. O well. 6 Epis to go!

RIP "King of Queens"

I (maybe like some of you) am very disappointed that the comedy series "The King of Queens" is going off the air this year. I was thinking about it and this is after all their 10th ( I think) season on CBS, so I don't know how much more I was expecting. The show has been one of the great sitcoms of it's time. Much like "Seinfeld", which is my all time favorite sitcom, there was something about the show that just reminded me of my own life. And not to mention, most of the episodes were hilarious. Currently, there really are no great sitcoms that I enjoy winding down to at night, but I do enjoy "Two and a Half Men" and "24" and "House, MD", even though the last 2 aren't comedies, they are still great, but thats for another post. All for now, but, be sure to check out the last episodes, starting tonight at 9:30. Thanks for reading my first post.

Cheers
